Reduce Your Stress Levels and Get Your Smile Back

 

A great deal of pressure comes with modern day living and unfortunately a significant amount of this may well be out of our control. For example, long gone are the days when you could find a job that you could count on for years to come. You need a new car so you take out a loan, no problem. You’ve budgeted and making the repayments won’t cause any difficulties because your paycheck will cover it.

Once upon a time this may have been the case but not any more. You take out your loan and get laid off. You’re happily working away at a job you’ve had for a couple years and then there’s a company take over by a major corporate. They centralise the job you were doing and once more you’re out of work. This is just one area of life today that can wear you down.

Sometimes much of our lives and futures can seem to be out of our control and this can lead to a build up of stress, anxiety and even depression. So what can we do about it? Well here are a few simple suggestions that can make a big difference.

Get enough sleep – This is when your body and mind regenerate to maintain healthy. Pick a bedtime, get into a routine and try to stick to it. Aim at 8 hours sound restful sleep.

Change your eating habits – Replace the junk with fresh fruit and vegetables which will substitute the toxins for life giving nutrients that will improve your mind and body functions.

Change your surroundings – If you live in the city amongst all the hustle and bustle try to get into the quiet of the countryside even if it’s just for a few hours at the weekend. You’ll be surprised at the calming effect this can have.

Get some time for yourself – Try to reserve 15 to 30 minutes a day when you can just sit quietly by yourself. Give yourself some time to think, make decisions, solve problems or simply just to relax and let the stresses of the day gently float away.
